BREAKING NEWS

Breaking news is that there is no breaking news today.

Just kidding. Can there be a day in India without breaking news.?

Gone are the days when people waited for 8pm news on Doordarshan or next day newspaper. Today it is the world of 24-hour news channels, news on mobile, news on internet and news everywhere. We can access news from anywhere. Today there are numerous news channels in India. Each channel wants to bring exclusive and fast news for its viewers i.e. sabse tez. Each channel calls itself India’s number one.

There was a time when news came to the channels, now vans of various channels roam to explore the news and present it to its viewers masala lagake. Actually news business is a very profitable business. India is  full of interesting stories.Everyday a news story breaks in India. You need not invest anything and you have full rights to exploit to your advantage. Is  this not profitable? This is why every business house wants to own a news channel. Most of the news channels are entertainment cum news channels. Recent example is wide coverage to Abi-Ash wedding. Every channel was looking for exclusive clipping to attract more people in turn more advertisements. There is a new phenomenon doing rounds in Indian news industry.Yes,you are right, it is sting    operations.Politicians,Policemen,Godmen,Bureaucrats and even cricket selectors have faced the brunt of hidden cameras. It has shown how corrupt our system has become.

Media is a great pillar of democracy. But channels have to realize that in India there are more important issues to be raised than some star wedding or some kissing scene. We all someday want to hear the breaking news
